Weekend with friends

Last weekend we had a very relaxing time with some dear friends at their wonderful cabin in the woods. Friday evening and a short time Saturday morning were the only times we had to sit around the fire ring for awhile because the rest of the time it rained. But when you're 'doing nottin' it can be done inside or out.

Jay and his friend meet regularly for breakfast and it seems they both enjoy bouncing life off of each other. As a wife I find great joy knowing that Jay has another guy he can 'be real' with.


They are both readers - as well as their wives - and the discussions are always great. It's a true treasure when you can find friends who are willing to get beneath the everyday, normal conversations and discuss the deeper issues - even at times touching on the things that you only allow a chosen few to see the true and real, not-always-pretty colors. This friend and his wife are treasures like that for Jay and I.

Life doesn't get much better than this.... a campfire, good friends, coffee, a book and discussion. They each of have their books on the chair between them.
